Craft! Another One Backlogged...?
08/30/2006 - I never thought I'd be saying this as early as I am, but I have to put 3 Witches on the backlog for now. I have signed a contract with an indy publisher to draw a graphic novel, which should be out in a year and a half or so. It will be over 100 pages, so it seems I have a lot of work to do. I also have some other work to do on the side, so it seems I have no choice. If you want to keep up to date with what I'm working on, feel free to check out my LiveJournal. I'll also be posting stuff occasionally on the 3 Witches Comic Book Forum. Feel free to leave comments there, or here on the main page.

3 Witches Comic Book Forum
07/13/2006 - Check it out, lads and lassies! Since you need something to stimulate the senses, I've set up a new forum for all of you comic book junkies. So, don't be a nerd, and check it out now! If you are a nerd, check it out anyway. Nerds are fine, really. But, no mass murderers, and no spammers. And, no rapists, or serial killers, okay? Okay. Now, go there!

3 Witches in the News
05/23/2006 - I know I'm late posting news about Free Comic Book Day, but here's an article in the local Kingsport Times-News, which spotlighted the 3 Witches website. http://www.timesnews.net/

New Comic Page

03/27/2006 - I know it seems like an eternity since I last posted a new comic page. That was mainly due to my bad luck with colorists. But after long deliberation, here is the new comic book page! I have now pretty much decided to go back to b&w format for now, or until I decide to actually color 3 Witches myself (ha!). You would have more of a chance of shooting a turd to the other side of the galaxy through a straw right now. No, really though. It IS possible, it just isn't likely. Until then, just relax, and quit being so pushy. I'm a perfectionist myself, but I'm forcing myself to suffer inside just so you can get your Witch Fix, okay?

Art Thou Ready?

03/14/2006 - The 3 Witches Comic Book Art section has been updated with some preliminary sketches from the 3 Witches universe!

I Need a Break

12/02/2005 - After several months of being lazy, I finally got around to updating my LiveJournal.

Bringing Back the Oldies

11/30/2005 - Not really oldies, I guess. What I'm talking about are the Legends Comic Ebooks that I have put together lately. I started the Legends series in 2000, so at this point, some of the pages are 5 years old! I was reading through them the other day, and I really started to miss doing the more fantasy-based stories that I got to experiment with when doing Legends. Not that I don't like doing 3 Witches, but I just really started to remember all of the characters that I created, and all of the stories, the relationships, the different timelines, and everything else. So, I came up with a couple of possible story lines for Legends while I was at work today. Maybe one day I'll be able to actually work on them. So now, on top of having TONS of story ideas for 3 Witches, I have some new story ideas for Legends (and some unfinished stories.) I have to get busy. Why can someone not invent the time machine, already? Geez! That way, I can go back in time, help myself with drawing Legends, then both of us can go back in time, and help that version of me with drawing, then all three of me can go back and help a fourth me. Hey, that just might work...

Anyway, I have finally found an affordable 11x17 scanner. It's the Mustek A3 model. I have read a lot of good things about it, so I hope it's as good as everyone says. It's the first affordable 11x17 scanner that I've found yet. Every other one I have found have at least been above the $1100 mark. Sheesh! This should save me at least 1-2 hrs per page from having to piece the scans together. I ordered it tonight, so I'm hoping to be scanning on a much bigger scale in a couple of weeks : D

Comic Ebooks Unveiled!

Nov. 25, 2005 - Welcome back, and I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I've been reworking the website quite a bit the last couple of weeks. I've really been trying to update it so that it provides a lot more information than before. I have also been working on preparing what I believe is the next generation of comics: Comic Ebooks.

I had actually presented something called eComics for my other online comic book, Legends. They weren't presented as well as I had envisioned them, but they were fairly well received.

Now, I plan to place more emphasis on them, with new software currently under development, and free downloads for newer versions of previously downloaded Comic Ebooks as they come available.

I will leave a small amount of comics online to browse through in webcomic format for now, but ultimately, I plan to convert the majority of the Singed Tentacle comics to Comic Ebook format. There are several reasons why I have made the decision to change, all of which, I believe will be to the benefit of the reader.

To find out more about Singed Tentacle Comic Ebooks, go to the Comic Ebooks section. I have created an FAQ section, which will hopefully answer your questions. Also, feel free to download the free Comic Ebooks when you're done.

Quick, Someone Give Me Magical Powers!

Nov. 12, 2005 - Hello again, everybody! I am beginning to realize how hard it is to not have magical powers. I know, I know, you're saying, "You stinking muggle! Draw some comics, already!"  For this there is no excuse, other than all of you witches out there forgot to enchant me with magical powers.

I am on a quest to finish some other things, along with more 3 witches stuff. I believe Guillermo is working on page 7 right now, so it might be available in the near future.

I would consider getting a penciller to speed things up a bit, but I don't think I could come to grips with not being able to draw the girls myself. Plus, the fact that I draw zero income from 3 Witches might hinder my paying someone else to do the art. On the other hand, if I had a big name publisher to back me...hmm. I might have something there. Oh, well. I think I like the magical powers thing better.

By the way, the donations thing on the main page is just a joke. I would really appreciate any donations, but I don't require any kind of bribes for me to draw my comics. This stuff is what keeps me going!

I Would Say Happy Halloween to You, But I Don't Have the Time

29 Oct 2005 Okawa, Japan - My goodness, it's going to be a great Halloween. Everybody seems to be in the spirit (including me!) and I'm hoping to go out and enjoy the festivities this weekend. I wanted to do some stuff for the website to celebrate, but I've been so stinkin' busy that I haven't had much time to devote to it. I have also neglected Legends as well.

I love to draw comics more than about anything, but lately, I find myself trying to dig myself out of tons of debt that I've been fighting for about 5 years, and it hasn't been an easy road. So, working my day job and doing freelance work on the side, I'm starting to get a handle on it, but I just have to keep at it. My immediate goals just seem to be taking over my long term goals.

I have TONS of story ideas that I'd absolutely love to tackle, that I have complete plots, or at least most of a plot written out for, but I have been so busy that I haven't been able to sit down and write them out and draw them. Time is a wily thing, and the bad thing is that there is no way to fight it. I have goals for 3 Witches that I would like to accomplish, but it just seems that daddy time is chewing on my leg, trying to keep me in one place. The good thing is that things might be looking pretty good as far as my job goes, so I might be able to slack off on the freelance work here in a couple months. I'm just praying...

So, basically, I was going to try and say Happy Halloween to everybody, but it seems I am in a crunch for time, so I guess I'll say

Yppah Neewollah, Everybody!

A Wand Waving Welcome to Guillermo Ucha!

After searching high and low for a good colorist, I am finally able to present you with my final selection...Guillermo Ucha!

I posted an ad at Digital Webbing, and I had a HUGE response, and even found a few backup colorists, too! I thought the search for a colorist would be hard and painstaking, but it turned out to be a quick success. Guillermo's work appears beginning on page 6 of "The Switcharoo", so be sure and check it out while you're here. I hope you'll agree that his work is top notch, and hopefully he'll be on color duty for a long time.

The next few comics may be slow in being posted, because I have been doing some freelance work on the side in my spare time (and making some darn good money at it). Drawing 3 Witches has become one of my favorite things to do, though, so I have to take a little time each day to work on it. Stay tuned, though, because Guillermo and I will soon be serving up some rockin' 3 Witches action!!

Singed Tentacle Comics Looking For a Colorist

Singed Tentacle Comics is now looking for a colorist to work on comics for 3Witches.net, so that I won't have to carry quadruple duties. That also might give me a little bit of time to work on Legends, as well. I posted an ad at Digital Webbing, so I am hoping to get a decent response within the next few days. The thing about hiring a colorist is that you have to offer some kind of pay, and being an online comic, 3 Witches currently generates zero income.

For anyone interested, page rate is $5/pg flat rate for now. Work may be printed in anthologies or in a serial or graphic novel format in the future, so this could be some good exposure. You will also get full credit for all work done. If interested, contact me (J.T.) at jt.blevins@gmail.com  with samples or links to your work.

Get on the Witchlist!

I am now experimenting with emails using html, so once I get the mailing list going, I plan to email new pages straight to recipients' email! If you are new to 3 Witches (and you are, because the website is only a couple of weeks old), three witches named Betsy, Tartella, and Gruel, get teleported from their hometown of Witchville to the modern day Richville. Don't miss out on their zany adventures, served up in their full color glory every week! ...or two.

And, don't forget to send an email to jt.blevins@gmail.com with the subject "Add Me," and you will receive updates by email, with the full comic, with a link to 3witches.net, where full episodes will be archived online.

Be on the Watch for Witches!

Thanks for dropping by Witchville for a little while! My name is J.T. Blevins, the creator of 3 Witches. Now that I have the site rolling, make sure you let me know what you think by leaving a note on the tag board on the main page! 3 Witches is a fairly new idea, but once the idea clicked in my head, I decided to go all the way with it. I already have synopses for 10 stories (but how long those will take to draw and color, we'll see). Anyway, I hope you enjoy the first couple of pages I have posted so far, and if you do, don't forget to bookmark us @ www.3witches.net! Thanks for sticking around, and I hope you don't decide to turn my head into a cantaloupe for corrupting your poor mind with the strange and crazy world of the 3 Witches!
